Thrifted 2/21/12

I realized I haven't posted any thifted finds in quite a while. The clothes I pick up are featured in What I Wore Wednesday posts, but the house ware items rarely get their little moment on the blog.

This weekend was epic - I found my first two pieces of genuine (read: not reproduction) jadeite.
I adore jadeite.
This is part of Martha Stewart's collection. The link has great info about jadeite and some beautiful photos of Martha's stash.

If I could only have jadeite in our kitchen I would. But alas, it is ridiculously rare to find them for affordable prices (at least in my neck of the woods. I'm not yet ready for eBay.)

These two darling tea cups also came home with a Fire King Restaurant ware mug in milkglass. She was only 4 bucks but if she was jadeite, she would be $40. And I probably would have passed out from joy of finding one locally. But I love her just as she is.

Love jadeite! I have a few pieces...two cake stands and a couple bowls. I also have reproduction mixing bowl. They fit much better in our first house because it was a bungalow and much more that style. Great finds!
