For my parents...
We opted to purchase our wedding DVD of photos to create extra albums...so a year and a half later, here is our wedding as my parents will remember it. And our wedding photographer Artie from Artistic Images was incredible. He captured all our moments so very perfectly.

Memory Monday 10/18/10
Since I missed Flashback Friday, I thought I would try Memory Monday.
And today really is a cool day for my hubby and I - it's our first wedding anniversary.
Things I will always remember about that day:
Freddy looked so handsome and I really felt so special and loved.
Our choreographed first dance
Dancing a lindy with my dad.
Loving the beginning of our life together.
And we were surrounded by those we love who have supported us this first year.
Happy first anniversary, sweetie! Here's to many more years of love.

Flashback Fridays: October 8, 2007
I am once again totally jumping on Michele's bandwagon. Over at her blog, Imperfectly Wonderful World, she's started Flashback Fridays to reflect on or remember events that weren't blogged, which I think is completely awesome.
And today just happens to be the three-year anniversary of the day my now-husband and I got engaged.
It was a beautiful October day (and as I write this, we are enjoying stunning weather that is exactly what we savored three years ago) and Freddy brought me to Manhattan to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to that, he insisted we take photos of the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park for his mom to scrapbook. This proves my husband's brilliance: he made sure I dressed appropriately and remembered my camera.
After I yelled at the two birds to get off the wing of the angel (they remained for the photo), I turned around and there was Freddy, on his knee, asking if I would do him the honor of marrying him.
I am still so grateful to the mystery woman who heard me squealing with joy and snapped this photo for us.
Following the wonderful moment, we strolled through Central Park calling all our family and friends to share the news until we arrived at Tavern on the Green (now, sadly closed) where champange and a dozen roses awaited us at the table in the Crystal Room.
Oh how I still adore my sapphire and diamond ring. He knew exactly what I wanted and chose the perfect ring for me.
And then, to top the day off, Freddy reserved a limo to take us back home to celebrate with our families who were waiting for us to celebrate at dinner.
And tonight we will remember the day with dinner out together, remembering the day we said "yes."
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Our Wedding Dance
Just realized this has never been posted here! Here is our first dance from Moulin Rouge, Your Song.
Kathleen and Freddy's first dance
Spending the time together rehearsing and getting to meet the fabulous Miss Debbie (who continues to be our instructor) have been just amazing. The private lessons were one of the best things we spent on for the wedding and now we look forward to dancing together throughout our marriage.

One Month Later

And so I have enjoyed one month of married life. And I must say, it is lovely.
Things I have learned:
-Life is easier when someone else loves to cook.
-It's fun discovering your dreams together.
-I like to keep things super clean. I never thought I would be like this, but I am a cleaning fiend. And I like washing dishes. I am sure that will get old fast.
-I miss my family and friends way more than I expected to.
-Freddy and I have different sleep schedules.
-It's an adjustment to feel settled. Just trying to say "my parents' house" instead of "home" has been hard.
-It is absolutely awesome to not have to leave Freddy (or have him leave me) and drive home each night.

One Month More
So, in one month I will be getting married. Ya know, when I picked my word for 2009 (change), I really had no idea just how many transformations would be going on in my life.
The obvious one is my marriage. Looking forward to starting a new life with compromise, shared dreams, and beauty. I know that there will be challenges. I know there will be some cloudy moments. But I also know that there will always be good things, even if I have to look a little harder sometimes. I know that Freddy is an incredible man who supports and loves me and for that I am most grateful.
Next is moving out. eeeek! I am slightly terrified about this. I have never moved ever. Not even out of my bedroom, so I am a little terrified of this. But it does give me a chance to clean out and simplify my life, focus on the things that make me happy.
And the one change that I didn't see coming was my new position at work. This was huge and came at just the right time for Freddy and I. A new desk, new office mate, and lots of new responsibilities and challenges.
One heck of a year of transformations...one month more to the big day!

Wedding Favors

So, I wanted to do something slightly different, but very me for wedding favors. And, after much deliberation and support from my fiance and friends, I am going for it....five handmade cards for guests to take home and send to those they love.
So, 100 thank you cards are completed and I have 400 to go! Very excited. The sage and chocolate satin ribbon to tie them with is ordered and I am just so looking forward to people getting to pass along some joy!!!

Say Yes to the Dress
Yup, that's right, I bought my wedding dress today. Totally great, wonderful day. and a disclaimer...I cannot for the life of me (and 2 hours on google and every wedding site) find the manufacturer photo of the dress. It is a Mori Lee gown style 3201, so different from anything I ever thought I would wear. This dress (on the model) is the closest I could find:

Mine is more full a-line and has some beading, but pretty much, this is the dress. I love that the gown has this incredible drape jacket (looks just like the one in the photo) and that it is a vintage-inspired lacy dress that is unique and very me (although it isn't anything I ever thought I would get). love it, love it, love it. Have a great weekend!
