Love this now

Some of my favorites right now:

This man.

My husband makes married life a lot easier. He lets me vent, watches PBS documentaries with me, knows how to mop a floor (and actually does it) and loves to cook. I am so blessed to have him by my side.

This documentary:

How I missed this the first time around is unknown. I started watching it three weeks ago and each week the stories, video and photos become more poignant and touching.

My Uncle Carman fought in WWII and was shot down while serving in the air force. His brother, my Uncle Sal, shares stories about the day the terrible telegram was delivered and my grandmother's constant belief that her son really survived. Such stories have stuck with me and I have always had a fascination with the war and memories (maybe because we never heard them from someone who was there? Not sure though). This documentary is amazing and even Freddy remarked about how it makes the war so much more personalized and real.

This food:
I {heart} Mexican food. The beans, rice, guac. Could eat it every day (if it wouldn't give me a heart attack, that is). What makes a burrito better? Enchiladaize it. That's right, they'll smother your dinner with an extra helping of that yummy red sauce and cheese. Fantastic.

My monogrammed shopping bag:

Reusable bags were invented for people like me. Except that I either a: misplace them or b: forget them in the car. That's why I love my Rarebits reusable bag. I want to carry it and no one else would take it.

My Bible Study Summer Adventure:
Learning, believing, embracing, connecting. This has been an amazing journey with a wonderful group of women.

The short 'do:

This took years to finally cut and the fabulous miss Linnie does such a wonderful job with my hair. This summer has been brutally hot and this hairstyle is really effortless. I often get asked if it was hard to do, and it did take me three years to just allow my stylist to chop it all off. But once I did it, I never regretted it for a moment. And the highlights help to brighten my look too.

Friends:

I have to say, we are surrounded by great people who are delightful to be with. Whether it's relaxing around Paige and Michael's fire pit or playing Cranium with Katie and Dan, simply enjoying the company of wonderful people is awesome.

What are some of your favorites this summer?

Aw, Kathleen....!!!! And we just love spending time with you guys as well. Laughing, eating smores and drinking wine around the pit, or having an ear to vent to it is great to have a friend like you! xo
